Private Wine Trade & European Sourcing

Wine forms one of the established commercial interests of the Lady Elizabeth Kelly Family Office, developed through long-standing relationships, private trade and an appreciation for the traditions surrounding European wine.

Our principal activity today is private wholesale.

We source and trade wine primarily through relationships in France and Italy, while remaining open to working with producers and wine-growing regions elsewhere where the quality, provenance and commercial relationship are right.

The business has historically handled approximately 200 tonnes of wine annually, supplying through private wholesale arrangements rather than operating as a conventional consumer-facing wine retailer.

From Private Label to Private Trade

From Private Label to Private Trade

Our involvement in wine has evolved over time.

Earlier activities included private packaging and labelling, allowing wines to be presented for particular markets and requirements. As the business developed, however, we found that the strength of our model lay increasingly in the wine itself — sourcing well, purchasing at meaningful volume and maintaining trusted relationships between producers and buyers.

Today, wholesale represents the principal focus of our wine interests.

This deliberately simpler model allows us to concentrate on what matters commercially: quality, consistency, provenance, volume and relationships.

Sourcing

We believe wine is best understood at its origin.

For this reason, our work takes us directly to wine-producing regions, particularly across France and Italy, where relationships with producers and suppliers can be developed personally rather than entirely through intermediaries.

We look for wines that make sense both in the glass and commercially. Reputation alone is not sufficient; consistency of production, reliability of supply and the ability to establish a lasting working relationship are equally important.

Although Europe remains central to our sourcing, we are not geographically rigid. The Family Office remains open to exploring new regions, producers and opportunities internationally where they complement the existing wine business.
